Homework

Word Study- Here is an example of word study.  Each Monday your child will come home with a sheet of words and at least 2 headers (the headers here are j, tr, dr, ch).  Your child will cut the words then read the words while sorting them under the correct heading.  Keep these words safe.  You will use them all week to follow the HW page below.

Sight Words- Every Monday your child will bring home a small sheet of 5 or 6 sight words.  Your child should cut the words out and practice reading them each night.  You can simply read through the words 5 times each or use some of the Sight Word Chants below.  Once they know the word(s) they should be moved to the "I Know" side.  Please keep in mind that knowing a Sight Word means your child can read it in 3 seconds or less.  The words your child needs more practice with should be left on the "keep working" side.
